DescriptionAll three isoforms of GRO are CXC chemokines that can signal through the CXCR1 or CXCR2 receptors. The GRO proteins chemoattract and activate neutrophils and basophils. Recombinant rat GRO/KC is a 7.8 kDa protein consisting of 72 amino acids including the 'ELR' motif common to the CXC chemokine family that bind to CXCR1 or CXCR2.
Form/AppearanceLyophilized from a 0.2m filtered concentrated solution in 20mM PB, pH 7.4, 150mM NaCl.
Purity> 97% by SDS-PAGE and HPLC analyses.
MW7.8 kDa, a single, non-glycosylated polypeptide chain containing 72 amino acids.
Protein SequenceAPVANELRCQ CLQTVAGIHF KNIQSLKVMP PGPHCTQTEV IATLKNGREA CLDPEAPMVQ KIVQKMLKGV PK
SourceEscherichia coli.
Biological ActivityFully biologically active when compared to standard. Determined by its ability to chemoattract rat neutrophils using a concentration range of 10.0-100.0 ng/ml, corresponding to a Specific Activity of >1 x 104 IU/mg.
EndotoxinsLess than 1EU/g of rRtGRO/CXCL1 as determined by LAL method.
StorageThis lyophilized preparation is stable for several weeks at 2-8°C, but should be kept at -20°C for long term storage, preferably desiccated. Upon reconstitution, the preparation is stable for up to one week at 2-8°C. For maximal stability, apportion the reconstituted preparation into working aliquots and store at -20°C to -70°C. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles.
Buffer/PreservativesLyophilized from a 0.2m filtered concentrated solution in 20mM PB, pH 7.4, 150mM NaCl.
NoteFor research use only
Application notesWe recommend that this vial be briefly centrifuged prior to opening to bring the contents to the bottom. Reconstitute in sterile distilled water or aqueous buffer containing 0.1% BSA to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/ml. Stock solutions should be apportioned into working aliquots and stored at < -20°C. Further dilutions should be made in appropriate buffered solutions.
Expiration Date6 months from date of receipt.
