Description | Fibronectin, also known as fibronectin, English name fibronectin (abbreviated FN), is a polymer glycoprotein found abroad in 1974, as one of the main cell adhesion molecules, FN plays a key role in many important physiological processes, such as embryogenesis, wound healing, hemostasis and thrombosis. Alterations, degradation, and combinations of fibronectin expression are strongly associated with a large number of pathologies, including cancer and fibrosis. As a biochemical reagent, it provides the basis for the industrial application of cell culture and bioengineering. Among the many functions of FN, the most basic and important one is to promote the growth of cell adhesions, and cell adhesions are necessary for the maintenance of body structure and the completion of cell growth. Recombinant human fibronectin includes three functional regions, a cell-binding region, a high-affinity heparin-binding region, and a CS1 site. This product is made by fermentation, isolation and highly purified filtration aliquots of yeast expression systems containing highly efficient fibrillo-nectin expression genes. It consists of 574 amino acid residues composed of polypeptide chains with a molecular weight of 63KDa. |
